The Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has summoned a special sitting on June 8th at the city hall to discuss the root causes of misunderstandings between the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula and the minister for Kampala Betty Kamya on the controversial amendments within the KCCA act.

Addressing the press in Kampala Lukwago said it’s unnecessary to have wrangles within the authority yet they can be settled among themselves.

Lukwago noted that if one of the two leaders fails to attend the meeting as a council they will take a final resolution but advised Kamya to stop violating authority meetings.

Last week the misunderstandings between Minister Kamya and the Executive Director were openly publicized stemming from the new amendments within the KCCA act that were tabled to parliament by the state minister for Kampala Benna Namugwanya.

Meanwhile   some of the Members of Parliament from Kampala include Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye west and Moses Kasibante of Lubaga North threatened to stand their feet to stop the amendments and were to start collecting signatures to impeach Betty Kamya.
