The State Minister for Trade and Cooperatives Frederick Gume Ngoobi has been grilled by justice Catherine Bamugemeirire’s Land Inquiry, over his involvement in the fraudulent allocation of government Land located on block 2,plot 103,Butembe in Jinja district.

It was discovered by the commission that Gume when he was a district chairperson, partly received shs5million in cheque on his account from an Indian-Jadhivini Haresh of Favorite Enterprises through David Pande his business partner who signed on his behalf, in relation to his lease offer for land acquisition in Wayiraka, which he pursued through district land board.

During the commission’s proceedings today, Gume first denied receiving any money but later accepted ever received money Pande owed him

The commission had also discovered from Moses Magemeso, the former Secretary for Jinja district Land Board who broke into tears yesterday before the commissioners that Gume influenced the process by virtue of his office.

The trade and cooperatives Minister further denied involvement into claims placed against him.
