Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Mubarak Munyagwa has been released by Kampala High Court Judge Flavia Senoga Anglin to allow him settled his debt deficit amounting to UGX 100 million he owes a city businessman John Baptist Maali.

Maali drugged Mubarak Munyagwa to court on April 12th after failing to refund UGX 100 million shillings granted in a civil suit in 2016 following a fraudulent land deal said to have been transacted by Munyangwa.

Addressing journalist at the high court after signing the agreement Patrick Bugembe the counsel to Maali said that both sides have agreed to settle their case amicably. Munyagwa had to pay UGX 15 million cash before his release was processed and the remaining sum of UGX 85 million has to be cleared by August 2nd 2017 including court interest of 6% pa (6,000’000).

Munyagwa denied the allegations that he was intimidating his respondent and pledged to settle the case.
