Members of Parliament are furious over the delay taken by the parliamentary commission to wire the 29 million shillings donated to each MP to facilitate their consultations on the Constitutional Amendment Bill of article 102b on presidential age limit.

Many of them rushed to their respective bank accounts to for the monies but it had not been reflected up to now.

Kumi District Woman Representative Monica Amoding, and Manjiya County MP John Baptist Nambeshe have reached to the extent of thinking that those who are opposed to the amendments might have been blacklisted not to receive the monies because since last evening they have been checking on the accounts no such monies has been deposited.

However, the same MPs say they would take the money and use it on projects chosen by their voters. Nambeshe and Amoding said they would spend the money on charity like refurbishment of the X-ray unit, repair the CT scan and the ambulance in Bududa District.

Meanwhile the opposition Democratic Party has reminded its 13 members of parliament not to be tempted to take the 29 million shillings.

In a press conference at the party headquarters in Kampala the acting secretary general Dr. Gerald Siranda noted that as a party they are against the amendment of article 102 b that seeks to give president Museveni another term of office after clocking 75 years of age.

He says the DP’s chief whip Hon Ssewungu Gonzanga has confirmed to him that they haven’t received any money on their bank accounts.

Meanwhile Siranda has also revealed that they are to petition high court requesting for the judicial review of all election petition cases that have been handled by the former deputy chief justice Steven Kavuma heard while still in office especially the 8 cases involving their party candidates.
