Kitgum Municipality Member of Parliament Beatrice Atim Anywar has warned her fellow politicians to stop uttering reckless statements that may cause hostility among Ugandans.

This follows the alleged careless statements by Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze on social media after the death of Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga which has lead to her arrest by police this morning.

Anywar says political differences should not be a ground for, enmity adding that police should be given chance to conduct its investigations.

Her statement considered with that of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Corporate Affairs Director Fred Otunnu who cautioned broadcasters against promoting ‘hate speech that is contrary to the minimum broadcasting standards.
