The Uganda Catholic Secretariat staff and well-wishers bid farewell to one of her dedicated staff member Geraldine Lwanyaga who died slightly after being operated of hernia at Nsambya Hospital yesterday morning.

In the final requiem mass and prayers of commendation at St. Peters’ Parish Nsambya led by the Bishop of Masaka diocese Rt. Rev. John Baptist Kaggwa, Geraldine was applauded for her patience, hard work and dedication in spite of the little pay she has served for 19 years as an administrative secretary in the social communications commission without complain and worry.

Bishop Kaggwa acknowledged the contribution of all staff of UCS and love for the late that gave her an opportunity to serve the Catholic Church with one heart.

The National Director Caritas Uganda Msgr. Francis Ndamira during the homily said Geraldine was not lucky but blessed of how she has managed to serve with diligence, humility, punctual and God fearing urging the two children and the widower to emulate her.

Later in Butooro in Kamengo Ggoli Parish in Mpigi district where she has been buried the Financial Administrator Uganda Catholic Secretariat who is also the Managing Director Radio Sapientia Fr. Eustachius Lwemalika in the last mass described Geraldine as an enterprising woman who started small businesses to support her family which is rare with many women.

He also commended her for the holy matrimonial vows where she also celebrated 25 years in marriage in June 2016 a gesture that showed her love for the sacraments and the family the foundation of the Catholic Church. On the side of sports Geraldine loved Radio Sapientia where she always played in her netball team whenever Radio Sapientia played the fans.

Geraldine was operated of obstructive hernia on June 2nd at Nsambya Hospital but after the surgery her life kept on deteriorating until June 20th when she died at around 2am.
