The Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga represented by the Archdiocese’ Vicar General Msgr. Charles Kasibante has launched a brand new modern Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine and also inaugurated the new board of governors at St. Francis Nsambya Hospital.

Magnetic resonance imaging is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body in both health and disease.

This is the fourth machine of its nature in country with the three being at Rubaga, Mengo and Nakasero hospital and its worth about 5bnshs.

The MRI Unit Administrator Dr. Innocent Isabirye explains that the machine will assist them in having detailed images for important information about the brain, spine, joints and internal organs.

Meanwhile, the new board of governors led by Prof. Fred Ssengooba from Makerere University will succeed the outgoing board led by Prof Charles Olweny.

The Nsambya Hospital Medical Director Dr. Edward Ddumba says the new board is targeting to construct more toilets with a room be shared by two patients.
