The National Coordinator for the newly launched Alliance for National Transformation (The Alliance), Maj. Gen. Retired Mugisha Muntu has declared a campaign of ensuring that power is vested in institutions instead of individuals.

Addressing the congregation during the Alliance launch at Serena Hotel in Kampala today, Muntu said that his party will concentrate on empowering of citizens meaning, privileges of the executive must be reduced and local government expenditure increased as well as the judiciary and parliament.

He further says that for Ugandans to be transformed there must be a spirit courage and nationalism not only by the citizens but leaders too.

However, the Chairperson Tanzania Youth Parliamentarian Forum Upendo Furaha Peneza challenges the Alliance never to fear but communicate with courage the spirit of unity, good governance and peace for Uganda.

Since the start of the process of forming and registering a party under the auspices of the New Formation, a platform unveiled by Muntu when he quit the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in September, there have been no official structure until today.
