President Yoweri Museveni has discouraged the manner in which Bank of Uganda is investigated by the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

Responding to a question from one of the journalists in a media briefing for the launching of the State House Anti- Corruption Unit at President’s Office in Kampala, Museveni said that handling such a big case on-camera is wrong and could jeopardize the evidence.

He says that this case would have been handled secretary in order to capture all perpetuators that got involved into it.

Museveni however, believes that the process is being conducted well and on critical people adding that he faced similar challenges which are confidential with some of the Central Bank officials.

Currently, BOU officials include the former Executive Director for Supervision Justine Bagyenda is under the committee investigations over the disappearance of key reports relating to the liquidation of seven commercial banks such as Teefe, Greenland, National Bank of Commerce, Cooperative and Crane Bank Limited.
