President Yoweri Museveni distanced himself from the ongoing contention regarding amendment of Article 102 (B) of the Constitution to remove the Presidential Age Limit.

The President today opened up for the first time on the hot button issue, while addressing the media at State House Entebbe.

The proposal reportedly being pushed by elements of the ruling party is to allow all Ugandans above the age of 18 to run for President.

Museveni while responding to a reporter’s question, denied knowledge of any bill intended to lift the age limit for presidential candidates.

He challenges those involved in debating age limit wondering what they are you debating and who proposed such debates.

Museveni further advises the public not to waste their time with people who lacks something to do, saying that though he has heard them, he is busy with his work.

When asked whether he would allow for a referendum to decide on the same matter, Museveni said all that is speculation.
