Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court has remanded nine suspects to Luzira prison over the murder of Suzan Magara.

The accused are; Patrick Kasaija, 36, Yusuf Lubega, 32, Muzamiru Ssali,27 both boda boda riders, Hussein Wasswa,22 (a hawker), Hajara Nakandi, 35 (a teacher), Abubaker Kyewolwa, 30 and Ismail Bukenya businessmen, Mahad Kasalita (an Imam at Usafi Mosque) and Hassan Kato Miiro, 22,.

They have been charged with two counts which include kidnap with intent to procure a ransom and murder before Magistrate, Charles Yeteise, who denied them plea since the charges against them are of capital nature and cannot be heard by magistrate’s court.

He remanded them until June 1 for committal to the High Court once inquiries are completed.

Prosecution contends that the accused persons and others still at large on February 7, this year kidnapped Magara, a cashier with Bwendero Dairy Farm (BDF), with intent to procure a ransom at Kigo in Wakiso district but ended in Magara death even after receiving some money from the deceased’s father.
