Gulu National Resistance Movement-NRM party district secretary for Finance and Entrepreneurship has defected to Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party.
Rose Nyapolo has been an NRM party member for 21 years.
In 2015, Nyapolo lost in the NRM party primaries for Omoro district Woman Member of Parliament.
She says the NRM has been choking her political career by maintaining a restrictive environment.
Nyapolo, who contested for Omoro Woman Member of Parliament as an independent candidate and lost to NRM’s Catherine Lamwaka, says that the NRM party grossly betrayed her political ambitions.
The Omoro district FDC Secretary General Patrick Otika, says that they have several times been wooing Nyapolo to the opposition.
Nyapolo served as LCV Councilor for Ongako Sub County in Gulu district for ten years.
She was also a mobilize deputy speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.
