The suspended National Resistance Movement (NRM) Members of Parliament opposed to the lifting of the presidential age limit have demanded the party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba to summon President Yoweri Museveni for disciplinary action.

The eight legislatures also want the Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa to face disciplinary action for what they call an illegal decision of suspending them from the recent caucus meeting in Kampala.

MPs that include Lwemiyaga County’s Theodore Sekikubo, Kasanda North’s Patrick Nsamba and Manjiya County’s John Baptist Nambeshe among others were suspended from NRM caucus meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office by Nankabirwa under the orders of the party chairman over sabotaging the party decisions of pushing the constitutional amendments of article 102b last week.

They have also condemned police brutality against the peaceful public and a directive stopping joint consultations taken by the MPs opposed to the amendments.
