President Yoweri Museveni has urged East African member states to put more emphasis in five key sectors among which include agriculture, industrialization, I.C.T and public service to fast track Growth of the Economies.

He said this while delivering his speech at the commissioning ceremony of the Mutukula One Stop Boarder Post for Uganda and Tanzania that is aimed at eliminating double clearance of trucks and persons on both countries.

His speech happened before he commissioned the one stop center in Tanzania together with President John Pombe Magufuli who later did the same in Uganda.

Tanzania’s Magufuli who started by chanting slogans praising president Museveni described such projects as opportunities for regional development that must be explored and jealously protected.

The two leaders also presided over the ground breaking for the construction of the 1,445-kilometre Oil pipe line project planned to run from Hoima District to Tanga port in Tanzania to transport Uganda’s crude oil for export.

According to the commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority Doris Akol, the one stop boarder post is to remove the trade barriers that have been affecting business between Uganda and Tanzania and will reduce the time spent on clearance of Goods from three days to one day.
