Parliament has been recalled to resume pending work by tomorrow starting with the discussion about the loans that government plans to borrow.

The house was granted a three week recess to attend to constituency work by the deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah but according to tomorrow’s order paper, the MPs will deal with the approval of three loans worth over 495 billion shillings.

217bnShs is needed for the construction of Masaka-Mbarara power transmission line, 9bnShs to finance Kampala Sanitation Programme phase 1 and 165.9bnShs needed for the completion of the construction works of the new river Nile Bridge at Jinja.

Kilak North MP Anthony Akol who doubles as the shadow minister of finance quickly descried these accumulated loans as a sign of a bad economy.
