Parliament, Army, Centenary Bank and other business companies’ lead by Movit product Limited have joined the Catholic Church in the fundraising campaign of constructing a causality facility at the Nkozi Hospital located 83kms on the Kampala-Masaka road.

Nkozi hospital receives an average of 15 accident victims a week unfortunately; it lacks a ward to deal with the problem effectively and conveniently.

In an effort to strengthen the health services for emergencies and causalities on Kampala- Masaka road, targets to rise over 2.8bnshs to put up causality ward at Nkozi hospital in the marathon.

Launching the second marathon at his residence in Nsambya, His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala says the ward is much needed at this hospital since it is the biggest health facility along Masaka road that is recorded for having the highest road carnage in the country.

However, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winfred Kiiza attributes the increasing road accidents on Kampala – Masaka road to undisciplined road users which contributed to the death of two members of parliament.

The Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) Acting Deputy Spokesperson Tabalo Kiconco says it’s everybody’s role to participate in this marathon to support the initiative.

Movit Production and Centenary bank contributed 37mshs by check towards the campaign as the Movit Product Head of Public Relations and Advertizing Department Goobi Kitenda explains.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga will be the chief runner for the marathon which will take place on Saturday June 17th.
