Parliament has been mentioned among tax defaulters in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) revenue books.

This has been revealed by KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi and her officials before the Parliamentary Committee on Communications, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) to account for the financial year queries since 2013/14 to date as per the auditor general’s reports on fall down in the Authority’s revenue collections.

Musisi said that besides Police, Ministry of Finance and Defense who pay their property rent taxes, other government institutions including state house, office of the president and education institutes do not pay property rent taxes.

The committee chaired by Abdul Katuntu was shocked with the revelation that parliament is yet allocated funds for paying taxes thus directing KCCA to submit all government institutions under tax defaulters for more investigations by tomorrow.
