As the year ends, it has come to our attention that Parliament is said to be under operational financial crisis.

Speaking to Bulisa County Member of Parliament Stephen Mukitale regarding rampant recesses given to MPs, he says that parliament has no finances to facilitate legislatures’ allowances and committees.

He alleges that the UGX13 billion spent with each of the 445 MPs getting UGX 29 million for consultations about the presidential age limit amendment bill moved by Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi was an out ward expenditure never budgeted for.

Mukitali says there is also un-coordination between the two leaders of government business and opposition who are supposed to generate businesses for parliament and MPs to conduct.

Mukitale also criticized the government proposal of importing doctors from Thailand to fill the gap of doctors following Ugandan doctor’s  strike and the likely other of nurses saying the only measure is to restages on how best such professionals can be motivated.

It’s alleged that Government is planning to import over 200 medical doctors soon from Cuba to address the gap of medical workers in the country.
