Members of Parliament have this afternoon elected to suspend the house proceedings and only resume business when the Executive comprehensively explains the mysterious killings of women in Wakiso district.

Last week the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga recalled Parliament from recess and directed the responsible ministers to come to Parliament today with a statement explaining the murder cases but none of them appeared.

Lira Women Member of Parliament Joy Ongom today rose on the matter of national importance but it was later realized that the ministers of Internal Affairs, Security and even the Government Chief Whip were not around.

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Winnie Kizza told the house that it was not proper for the house to debate when the concerned members of the Executive are absent.

The motion to suspend business in the house was then moved by the Aruu South County Member of Parliament, Samuel Odonga Otto who said the national assembly cannot continue sitting when everyone in the country is not aware of what exactly is happening in the country.

The legislator was supported by the both sides of the house forcing the Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah who chaired the house to indefinitely suspend the house.

The Local Government Minister, Tom Butime tried to convince members to continue with business but all MPs disagreed with his position.
