Uganda Police Force has challenged a story by the Daily Monitor claiming that Forty Five Rwandan refugees are held in a dreaded Nalufenya facility for two weeks on unknown charges.

According to the story, the suspects from Nakivale settlement camp in Mbarara comprised of women and children were arrested on allegations of having links with Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels.

In a press release issued this evening, the Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima says that 43 of the suspects were arrested at Kikagati border post traveling on forged documents and false identities though they were found being culpable of more serious offences including terrorism.

He further explains that the two suspects were subsequently arrested in Kampala collaborating with the 43.

However, Kayima demands an apology from Daily Monitor for identifying Nalufenya police station as dreaded facility yet is a mare cell were detainees are handled professionally.
