The police disciplinary committee has dropped four charges against the embattled former Buyende District Police Commander.

Assistant Superintended of Police Mohammad Kirumira was acquitted of charges including extortion, abuse of office, bribery and unlawful use of authority.

But he was found guilty of four cases; prominent among them was parading flying squad operatives to the press and declaring them as thieves.

Prior to the court ruling on today, the former police boss told journalists that he will be leaving the force as soon as the court process is done.

By the time of publishing this story, court had not pronounced it’s self on the punitive action against him for the cases he was convicted.

Meanwhile, Police beat up journalists who had gone to cover Kirumira’s judgment at the tribunal in Naguru.

Counter terrorism police officers were seen kicking, beating and pushing journalists who demanded to know the reason behind the cruel act.
