The said 12 children among them a two year old baby have allegedly been held in communicado for 49 days at Naggalama police station in Mukono district after being rounded up in a van following their arrests of their parents Mbaziira, Aisha Ampiire and Fatuma Bint Salim.

The Uganda Catholic Lawyers (UCL) President Jude Mbabaali says that police executed the said operation illegally since it never followed the Children’s Act and the International Instruments that protects children.

However, the Muslim Centre for Justice and Law (MCJL) Jaffer Senganda says that police should also compensate the family of these children for psychologically torturing them in the last 49 days since parents have not being known the way about of their kids.

Meanwhile the latest information from the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman Emilian Kayima has told the press shortly after meeting mothers of the children who had pitched camp at Naggalam Police Station that they need another week to find out whether it is fit to release the children aged between 2 to 20 years

All the 12 children in police custody belong to one Abdu Rashid Mbaziira a suspected killer of slain police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
