Police in Kampala has paraded the recovered hand hard building tools and two fire arms suspected to have been used to terrorize the city and its suburbs.

Among the tools include, an AK47 rifle, a revolver pistol, 18 rounds of ammunition, pangas, pick axes, axes, hammers and iron bars among others got from areas of Bwaise, Kawempe, Najeera, Kiwatule, Makindye, Kirinya, Nateete, Nansana and Kira.

Parading the tools before journalists, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Frank Mwesigwa says they also arrested about 113 criminals in the past two weeks of the 45 days operation dubbed “Keep Peace in Kampala”, and at least 92 of them have been charged before court over various offences including aggravated robbery.

Mwesigwa explains that they had a watch list of over 100 hard core criminals and leads they followed during their covert operations leading to the recovery of tools used and arrest of suspects who have been discovered to be repeat offenders who have been in prison.

A wave of attacks has in the past months rocked the country where thugs drop threatening leaflets before attacking, beating and hacking people before stealing and vandalizing their property.
