Police have cautioned public to shun the age limit campaign dubbed “Red ribbon week” ahead of the presentation of the Age limit report and its debate in parliament.

The legal affairs committee of parliament, which was scrutinizing the bill, will be presenting its report in parliament and Members of Parliament opposed to it have showed intentions of launching protests.

Addressing the media in Kampala, the Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima says that according to their intelligence, a section of politicians are mobilizing people to storm parliament on Tuesday December 12, 2017 when the report is to be tabled for debate by legislators.

He adds that they believe politicians have planned riots around areas of Kampala and at parliament but  advised  the public to avoid any gatherings saying that “they are likely to cause breach of peace.”

Kayima emphasizes that if necessary, police will seal off some roads near and around parliament to ensure security.
