The Pope is concerned about ‘signs of intolerance and discrimination of refugees on the European Continent.

Pope Francis says Catholics who refuse to accept migrants and refugees into their countries, cite an ill-defined “moral obligation’ to preserve the original cultural and religious identity” of their nations.

In a meeting with the directors of migrant and refugee services from the bishops’ conferences of Europe, Pope Francis said “temptation of exclusivist and cultural fortification” that still exists among Europeans including Catholics is bad when faced with one who needs help and shelter.

The ongoing impact of the economic crisis has been “aggravated by the size and composition” of the waves of migrants trying to reach Europe, from the Middle East and Africa countries , but inadequate EU policies are affecting the migrants, calling for a human heart and understanding towards God’s people.
