Tororo Archdiocese has officially launched preparatory meetings for this year’s 3rd June Uganda martyrs day celebrations under the theme; Lets walk in the light of God.

The Vicar General of Tororo Archdiocese Msgr. Kevin Musisi has been appointed by Archbishop Emanuel Obbo to chair all the meetings on his behalf alongside the Secretary General Uganda Episcopal Conference Msgr, John Baptist Kauta.

In his opening remarks to members of the Central Organising Committee this afternoon at the Uganda Catholic Secretariat Nsambya Msgr. Musisi said all Christians, friends and well-wishers have pledge support to the successful hosting of the martyrs celebrations and so far 160 million shillings has been raised out of the 720 million shillings budgeted for the function.

He says Nine committees have been identified; Liturgy, protocol and security, publicity and communication Health, Pilgrims and Catering among others.

Among the strategies set to raise funds specifically in Kampala include; mobilization of MPs on February 14th on Ash Wednesday in a mass that will be led by Archbishop Obbo, and a charity walk on March 4th among others.
