It has been disclosed that President Yoweri Museveni has been at the forefront of the search for the late Susan Magara and in constant contact with the family until Tuesday when her body was dumped at Kigo along the Southern bypass.

Speaking to mourners during the requiem mass at Our Lady of Africa Church in Mbuya, John Fitzgerald Magara, the father of the deceased, revealed that the president had been contacting him every day to follow up on the search and was in fact the one who informed him of the recovery of the body.

During one of the meetings with the president, Magara says he had asked for permission to give the kidnappers what they wanted.

On Friday, Magara secretly handed over a huge sum of money to the kidnappers without informing anyone and waited patiently for the daughter to be release so he could surprise the family. The money is believed to be more than 720 million Uganda Shillings.

Initially, police had stopped the family from paying the ransom until they were able to identify or track the kidnappers on ground that if they got the money they would not have any use for Susan.

Her body was recovered yesterday with two missing fingers which were sent to the father two weeks ago.

Police has since promised a Shillings 100 million reward to anyone who can identify the voice of one of the kidnappers and place a face to it.

This comes after President Museveni issued a statement today consoling with the bereaved family and likening the killers to pigs.

Susan Magara who was 28 years old will be laid to rest in Kitoba village, Hoima district at 2pm on Thursday 1st march.
