Police in Nakaseke District have arrested a prison warder and an inmate who are suspected of having tortured to death an inmate at Wakyato Local Government Prison in NaKaseke District last week.
Chief Warder Henry Eyou was arrested together with an inmate identified as Lawrence Kyakuwa after being implicated by prisoners.
They allegedly tortured to death a one Godfrey Sserwada.
Savana Region Police Spokesperson, Paul Kangave said the Prisoners claimed that the two tortured Sserwada at Wakyato village where the prisoners had gone to get fire wood. They later dragged him to the cell where he collapsed [and died].”
He said the suspects are being held at Kiwoko Police Station in Nakaseke and are likely to be charged with murder after investigations.
