Radio Sapientia annual extravaganza called Ekibbiitu for 2018 saw a massive turn up at YES Centre Nsambya where thousands of fans converged to show solidarity to the Radio.

They were entertained by local artistes and won prizes provided by both the Radio and Sponsors that included money, T-shirts, Caps and a number of items from Kiri bottling company that produces Kiri soda and water.

The event is normally the climax of both the Catechism and Sports quiz dubbed “ Akabinkanno k’ Akatikismu and Sports Kakensa” with winners walking away with Cash and items in reward for their performance.

For the Catechism quiz; Kiwanuka Anthony from St. Agnes Kibuye Makindye won himself UGX 1,000,000 in the category of Adults, Nakigozi Teddy from Jjinja Kaloli Parish won a bible, UGX 200,000 and a Chair, Nakiguli Glades from St. Padre Pio Parish Kabula Muliro won in the children’s category and got a bible UGX 200,000 and a Chair on top of all of them getting a fully paid pilgrimage to Kibeho in Rwanda.

For the Sports Kakensa 2018 Phillip Bunnya from Namugongo Sonde won himself a brand new Motorcycle after scoring 50 points beating Magero Mark Paul, Kaka Joel, Kakande Ashraf and Serubiri david at the finals.

The Managing Director Radio Sapientia Fr. Eustachius Lwemalika along with the Executive Secretary Catholic Social Communications Commission Fr. Fillip Odii, the Executive Secretary Pastoral Liturgical Commission Fr. John Baptist Kaganda, area councilor Joseph Waggala and Betway Uganda Country Manager Adella Agaba handed over the prizes to the winners.

Fr. Lwemalika appreciated the fans for the support and turning Radio Sapientia into a strong radio station and their source of reliable information, promised them to grow stronger with the coming of the Uganda Catholic Television very soon.

This year’s Ekibbiitu was sponsored by Betway Uganda, Kiri Soda, Centenary Bank, Pax Insurance Company, Uganda Catholic Management and Training Institute Lubaga among other individuals.
