The 2017/18 Uganda Premier League Champions, SC Vipers have sacked head coach Miguel Duarte Da Costa.

The development comes just less than two months since the Portuguese national guided the Kitende team to the league title.

Edward Golola, who has been assistant coach, is now the interim head coach until further notice.

Da Costa in his tenure at the helm of Vipers was a known motivator for the playing department and fellow technical staff.

According to the club official website, Da Costa was sacked as part of restructuring in preparations for Confederation of African Football (CAF) Club competitions and next Uganda premier league.

SC Vipers appreciated Coach Da Costa for his commitment and service to the club and wishes him success in his career advancement going forward.

It should be noted that Da Costa also guided Vipers to the Uganda Cup finals in the concluded season where they lost to KCCA FC.

Da Costa, who replaced Abdullah Mubiru at Kitende, managed a second place position in his first season at the club.
