The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has this afternoon unveiled a new Coach for the National Men’s team, the Uganda Cranes.

Sebastien Desabre, 41, the former coach of El Ismaily in Egypt has been appointed the head coach and will be assisted by Mathias Lule and Fred Kajoba (Goal keeping Coach) for a 3 year contract that will see him bagging at least UGX 72 million per month.

FUFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Edgar Watson speaking at the unveiling said the selection process has involved the Uganda government through the National Council of Sports and the Sports ministry and he has no doubt the process has been transparent.

The Frenchman; Desabre beat Moses Basena (Uganda), Emilia Ferrera (Belgium) and Jonathan McKintry (Northen Ireland) as the other candidates on the job.

Desabre who only resigned last evening from the Egyptian giants El Ismaily SC, comes with experience on the continent having coached at ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast, Recreativo Libolo in Angola, Wydad Casablanca in Morocco. He is expected to immediately begin work by steering the Uganda Cranes in the CHAN championships that is starting on January 12, 2018 in Morocco.

In his acceptance speech Desabre, was grateful and honoured for the trust put in him promising to improve on the team’s performance.”
