As St Joseph’s Girls Senior Secondary school Nsambya marks its Golden Jubilee it has organized a medical camp that attracted over 300 people who were examined and offered free treatment in HIV/AID, Pressure, Diabetes, Hepatitis B, Dental and Optical service.

The camp held at Nsambya play ground provided an opportunity for Nakasero blood bank to collect reasonable units of blood donated by students, teacher and residents from Nsambya.

The head teacher of Rev. Sister Mary Pauline Namuddu said the medical camp was a corporate social responsibility for the school which has educated the girl child for the last 50 years from the area.

The final celebrations are to be held on Sunday March 19th under the theme;  “50 years of academic excellence and girl child empowerment.” It will start with a mass led by the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and the Minister of Education will commission the new library.

The celebrations started last year are almost coming to an end and the week from March 12th started with a pilgrimage to St. Peter’s Nsambya Parish, on Monday they carried out community cleaning in Kevina and reached out to the needy at Nsambya babies home, missionaries of the poor and Bakateyamba at Nalukolongo. Tuesday was for the medical camp, Wednesday is for skilling girls showing entrepreneur skills, Thursday is a fan day.
