St. Peters Parish Nsambya has celebrated 123 years since it was founded by the Mill hill fathers as they marked this year’s Parish day in thanks giving for the parishioners and priests who have strengthened the community through evangelizations.

The celebrations that started with the Mass, the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese Msgr. Charles Kasibante congratulated the Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Semanda for uniting the community of the lay faithful and the religious who are spread around the parish and for the inter faith relationship.

Msgr. Kasibante described this achievement as God’s love that must be jealously protected adding that a strong leadership builds understanding and development although many think that equality means no leaders and those they serve which is a big mistake.

On the patron saint of the Parish St. Peter, Msgr. Kasibante said he was a true disciple of Christ who left his fishing business and devoted his life to God which is a challenge to many in Uganda.

He encouraged each person to strive for truthfulness through the guidance and grace of God.

The celebrations were held under the theme; ‘Always witness to Jesus the son of God, Bulijjo tujulire Yezu omwana wa Katonda, and 7 couples were graced with the sacrament of holy matrimony.

The Managing Director Centenary Bank Fabian Kasi acknowledged the development registered in the parish pledging UGX 5 million to support the parish projects like the completion of the chapel among others.
