Members of Parliament from Teso sub region want their area Police leadership be reshuffled over a spate of armed robberies.

In their press conference at Parliament today, MPs noted rampant insecurity in Teso and that in many cases Police is involved as they connive with criminals.

According to David Abala, the Ngora County MP, nine people gave been killed since September last year where armed attacks target mobile money dealers and bodaboda motorists.

Abala said they have tasked the Police chief Kale Kayihura to visit the area and resolve the matter as people are living in fear, closing their businesses early.

They also question why the police units such as the Flying Squad that are supposed to respond to such incidents are not facilitated.

But the Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayira denies having received any complaint from the region.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kale Kayihura has said the Force is under attack by what he called propagandist.

He made the remarks during the 24th police council sitting at Kigo.
