The Chairmen Uganda Episcopal Conference Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Anthony Zziwa has released an official appeal letter for each well-wishers and to all the 19 Catholic Dioceses to contribute generously towards the start of the Uganda Catholic Television UCTv
The Television that is to cover the entire country will be for the promotion of the Catholic work of evangelization and integral human development.
In the statement Bishop Zziwa says a contribution of 2000/= from each person through all the Centenary Bank branches on account number 3100058870 under the names of Uganda Episcopal Conference Television Project started on December 25th 2018 and will end on March 25 this year.
He appeals to all the clergy to popularize this fundraising drive for the Catholic Church to start its Television.
The Bishop of Masaka Rt. Rev. John Baptist Kaggwa has already hyped the fundraising drive in his diocese and January 13th has been earmarked for collecting of funds for the Uganda Catholic Television in all parishes making up the diocese.
At least UGX 2 Bn is needed to cater for the start of the Television that includes; setting up of structures, acquire equipment and recruit staff among other needs.
