The Pope Nuncio Archbishop Michael Ugust Blume has urged Bishops to ensure that all Catholic education institutions operate in line to the social doctrines of the church on which they were founded.

Archbishop Blume says such institutions are meant to be the rock on which the church is built.

He made the remarks while launching the silver Jubilee celebrations for Uganda Martyers University at Rubaga branch this evening.

He further stresses the importance of both humanities and science courses that they shouldn’t be separated since each complements the other.

Archbishop Blume led the ground breaking for the construction of the UMU Rubaga branch Silver Jubilee Complex that will accommodate facilities like lecture halls, administration offices and a chapel among others.

Bishops and other dignitaries in attendance; the Archbishop of  Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, Bishop of Nebbi Santos Linos Wanock, Bishop of Lira Joseph Franzellii and the Secretary General Uganda Episcopal Conference Msgr. John Baptist Kauta among others.

The central government has been represented by the Minister for Since and Technology Dr. Erioda Tumwesigye and State Minister for Karamoja Eng.John Byabagambi, Democratic Party (DP) President Norbert Mao and John Kawanga Ssemwogerere as well.
