Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has rallied the Media to interest her audience with the privilege Uganda has got to host the 64th Common Wealth Parliamentary Conference 2019 after almost 50 years.

Uganda was suspended from the hosting such a conference following the Late Iddi Amin coup in 1971 but Uganda re-applied with the coming of the NRM government purposely to tap opportunities and privileges from such memberships.

The conference will take place in Kampala at Common Wealth Resort Munyonyo from September 22nd to 29th 2019, under the theme; “Adaptation Engagement and Evolution of Parliament in a rapidly changing commonwealth.”

Kadaga who automatically becomes the President of the Common Wealth Parliament by the virtue of being the host says they are to discuss matters of; Environment, unemployment, innovations in parliament, changes in urbanization and benchmarking on Democratic operations among other areas of international interest.

She says the country is to earn a lot in areas of accommodation from hotels, artisans and those in the tourism sector because close to 1000 delegates from 54 member countries have already booked to visit different tourism destination sites.
