The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) has added an application seeking for the addition of two more respondents who are crucial personalities in the case against Uganda Communication Commission in their file.

In an application made by a lawyer representing UJA, Aaron Kizza, the added include the Attorney General and Godfrey Mutabaazi as an individual.

Initially, it was only one respondent that is UCC making them three respondents if the above are added.

According to the applicant’s lawyer, he prayed that the application be officially consolidated with the early two applications since they all cover the same interests.

It’s on this note that Lady Justice Lydia Mugambe Ssali adjourned the matter to the 8th/10/2019 for hearing but advised both sides not to bring in more applications or else she will abandon the case.

In the previous court session the applicants sought court to quash UCC directive against 13 Media houses that were directed to suspend their head of news, producer and head of programs for breaching minimum broadcasting standards.

The Media houses include: Akaboozi FM, BBS TV, Beat FM, Kingdom TV, Bukedde TV, NBS TV, NTV, Pearl FM, Salt TV, Radio Sapientia, Simba FM and Capital FM.
