The Uganda Local Government Association (ULGA) has distanced its self from decisions passed by some district councils to support the removal of presidential age limit.

Through their president George Mutabazi they say such resolutions are illegal and against the local governments constitution.

He adds that for such resolutions to be binding, 2/3 of the total number of districts must have supported the decision of opening up the age limit close in the constitution.

Apparently only 11 districts out of 120 districts have supported the amendment to article 102b.

Mutabazi also clarifies that for only NRM district chairpersons across the country to sit and pass a resolution to support the amendment at state house is not good although he supports opening of the age bracket.
