Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) faction led by Jimmy Akena has distanced its self from ever receiving any information requesting or suggests them to join the Democratic Party Bloc.

UPC National chairman Lawrence Okea says that the party is unaware of any DP meeting with opposition parties regarding the alliance.

Yesterday DP president Norbert Mao revealed their plan to journalists of meeting other opposition parties next week over their strategy of fielding a single candidate for the position of presidency come 2021 general elections.

Last month DP formed a Bloc that includes Social Democratic Party (SDP) and People’s Development Party (PDP) as they wait for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Conservative Party (CP), Justice Forum (JEEMA) and UPC to join them.
