CHRISTIANS START LENT WITH ASH WEDNESDAY

Christians world over have started lent a 40 day period of fasting, in prayer, reconciliation and forgiveness and alms giving in remembrance for the period Jesus Christ the savior spent in prayer before he was crucified.

The lent period starts with a day of ashes on ash Wednesday a symbolic gesture that human fresh is from the soil and it where it will return but one has to renew his life spiritually with God.

The retired bishop of Rochester Diocese in the United Kingdom Michael James Nazir-Ali has challenged Ugandans especially Christians to become modern-day missionaries through resisting actions, thoughts and deeds that promote impunity.

While speaking to the thousands of Christians who thronged Mucwini Sub-County for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the late Archbishop Janani Luwum, Bishop Nazir-Ali said Just like Archbishop Luwum, no Christians and the Church of Uganda should support any forms of impunity.

KABAKA MUTEBI ISSUES CHRISTMAS MESSAGE.

The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebbi 11 has extended his congratulatory message to all Christians upon reaching this year’s Christmas day with a number of reservations.

In a statement released Friday December 24th morning, Kabaka expressed concern over the high numbers of deaths due to accidents on the road, sickness and institutional misunderstandings with the state authorities that covered the year 2016.
