Christians and Priests in St. Peter’s Nsambya Parish Nsambya have today walked from the boarders of Our lady of Mount Camel Kansanga Parish with the portrait of Mother Mary demonstrating faith and prayer through Mother Mary who was chosen to intercede for Uganda.

The exercise is in the drive to the celebrations of the 50 years of Kampala Archdiocese that is to be celebrated in October this year at Lubaga Cathedral.

The portrait was driven along Ggaba road with foot Christians and made several stop overs among which include; St. Joseph’s Girls SSS Nsambya, Nsambya Hospital, Nsambya Home Care, Catholic Secretariat, Holy Cross Family Ministries and finally was rested in the Parish Nsambya where it’s to stay for a week.

At the Catholic Secretariat, a short prayer led by Rev. Fr. Dr. John Baptist Kaganda the executive secretary for Pastoral Liturgical Commission, praying for the church, families, youth and children, those afflicted and the dead.

Fr. Kaganda noted the challenge of domestic violence, separations, divorce, early marriages and same sex marriages, economic hardships and other forms of suffering as big challenges that Uganda must pray hard through the intercession of Mother Mary to overcome them.

The portrait was welcomed by among others the Secretary General Uganda Catholic Secretariat Msgr. John Baptist Kauta, executive secretaries and staff from the staff of Nsambya Home Care and later was handed over to the Staff of Holy Cross Family Ministries a department of the Holy Cross Congregation.
