RWENZURURU PREMIER OUT ON A UGX 75 MILLION BOND

The Rwenzururu Kingdom Prime Minister Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire, has been released by the Jinja High court on a non-cash bond of 75 million Shillings while his sureties were bonded 100 million Shillings each.

Kitsumbire was granted bail by Justice Eva Luswata following an application he filed in March 6, citing advanced age and poor health.

SEKIKUBO WINS THE CASE

High Court in Masaka has dismissed with costs an application seeking to challenge the election of MP Theodore Ssekikubo, as a Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga County.

Ssekikubo's political rival Patrick Nkalubo had filed an application, seeking permission to file an election petition challenging the outcome of the February 2016 parliamentary polls in which Sekikubo won another term of office.

The bail application in which the Omusinga wa Rwenzururu Charles Wesley Mumbere thought to be granted a release flopped before Jinja High Court presided by Justice Eva Luswata and instead was adjourned to Thursday, January 12th to rule on whether the court has jurisdiction to hear the application.
