President Museveni has mocked the foreign powers that are alleged to have been behind the anti-corruption demonstration this week.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Museveni says that the demonstration had two bad elements, funding from foreign sources that are always meddling in the internal affairs of Africa perpetuating slave trade, colonialism, neo-colonialism, genocide, economic exploitation.
He warned that all those involved, should know that Uganda is not a neo-colony where those shallow schemes can be deployed.
Secondly some of the authors and participants of the demonstrations, were planning very bad things against the people of Uganda and the court now has the mandate to dig deep into these wrong elements following the arrests of the said participants according to Museveni.
He has however credited the security agencies for foiling the demonstration before emphasizing that the Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU) Col. Judith Nakalema can co-ordinate with the genuine anti-corruption fighters for a similar effort, especially on a Sunday not on a working day like they did in 2019.
Museveni has promised to make a National broadcast next week to discuss more on the issue and government commitment against corruption and job creation.
