Kyagulanyi discharged as police commit on investigations

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine has on Tuesday evening been reportedly shot

Police state that the cause of NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi’s injury will only be determined after thorough investigations.

This follows yesterday’s statement that claimed Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine got injured as he stumbled getting into his vehicle, which his supporters rejected only insisting that he was shot.

While addressing the journalists at Naguru today (Wednesday), the Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke noted that they have retrieved CCT footages revealing several observations including disruption of traffic, stunning of police officers and other acts of hooliganism by the NUP members at Bulindo, Kira Municipality.

He says that three Police officers were injured with one in serious condition and windshields of two Police vehicles were shattered.

Rusoke however says that their investigations are intended to address the root cause of the altercation.

By press time, Kyagulanyi was discharged from Nsambya hospital following an injury sustained from a tear gas canister during an altercation with police on Tuesday evening.

NUP Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi revealed that the decision to discharge Kyagulanyi was prompted by reports that plain-clothed security personnel were allegedly attempting to gain access to his hospital room and demanding his medical records.

Concerned for his safety, Kyagulanyi’s team requested that he continue his treatment at home in Magere.

Before, motorists spent the entire day interrupted after police blocked the roads leading to the hospital and all other accessing roads with people had to undergo thorough security checks.
