Lubaga Hospital is in urgent need of a new CT-Scan machine to save lives of patients in need of its services.
The Siemens Emotion 6-Slice CT-Scan that is in operation at the Hospital, has served for eight years, a period that is beyond its recommended full operational capacity, which has pushed the Hospital’s Management to organize a fundraising dinner on October 17th, 2024 at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Kampala to raise funds to purchase a CT-Scan machine.
While addressing a press conference ahead of the dinner, Dr. Julius Luyimbazi, the Executive Director of Lubaga Hospital noted that they intend to procure a 64-Slice CT-Scan that will cost about Shs2.2 billion.
He says they need to upgrade the machine to that capacity since the number of patients that are referred for imaging tests has increased with about 140 people scanned per month.
The Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, who was introduced as Lubaga Hospital’s Chief Patient, at the same press conference appealed to businessmen and women to participate in the fundraising dinner with the aim of saving life since everyone is a potential patient at any given time.
