The Government of Uganda has assured continued collaboration with the University of Kisubi (UNIK) in academics and other developmental activities.
In his message delivered by the Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo at the 9th graduation ceremony of the University of Kisubi, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni applauded the institution for a successful progress in using surrounding resources in science studies in transforming people’s lives.
He states that on his first visit to the institution in 2010, he opened a science laboratory and offered 50 scholarships to science teachers which have been utilized positively.
He advised the graduates that despite consequences in the current situation, they should bear fruits, use the knowledge acquired to fight corruption, criticism, riots and other activities that may hinder peace and development in the country.
The State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo who also graced the ceremony, confirmed that according to their inspection and observations, the university is producing quality education, hence asking the University Council to continue putting emphasis on research and practical studies to produce and practical persons for the job market in the country.
Meanwhile, Brother Casio Aizire, the Chancellor of the University of Kisubi and Provincial Superior of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Instruction called upon the graduates that as they go out to the world with the holistic education they have acquired, they should be agents of change in their communities, they should avoid time wasting and think “outside the box” because they are facing a world full of challenges due to technology which has been misused.
