Pressure 24/7 asks Court to Dismiss his cases of abusing President Museveni, Kabaka

Pressure-24-tiktoker in court

TikToker Ibrahim Musana, also known as Pressure 24/7, who faces charges of abusing the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has asked court to dismiss charges against him.

Musana appeared in the Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for hearing of his case and the State Attorney Ivan Kyazze informed the court that he was not ready to prosecute Musana and asked for more time to prepare the prosecution’s evidence.

Musana through his lawyer Kato Tumusiime rejected the State’s request saying that the case has been adjourned over five times meaning the State is not ready to prosecute him hence asking for dismissal of the charges.

However, the State Attorney Kyazze emphasized that they were still processing the forensic report and compact disk with videos they intend to use in the hearing of this case as evidence.

This prompted the trial magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi to adjourn the case until November 19th 2024.

Musana is charged with eight counts of promoting hate speech and spreading malicious information, violating section 26(a) of the Computer Misuse Act (2021).

The prosecution alleges that between August 2023 and February 2024, while using his TikTok account, Musana shared information within Kampala that was likely to degrade or demean and incite hostility towards four individuals; the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, President Museveni, Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among and the State Minister for ICT, Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo.
