The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has deployed over 13,600 scouts and security personnel to oversee the safe conduct of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) scheduled for this week.
According to the Board, the security personnel including those undercover are about 600 while the scouts are 13,000 who are ready to deal with fraudsters that are planning to trick unsuspecting members of the public.
A total of 798,771 candidates were registered to sit this year’s PLE Exams which will be conducted from 15,311 UNEB centers across the country.
Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the UNEB Spokesperson cautions the public against unauthorized possession of any material, content or information purported to be a UNEB examination paper.
Kalule has further noted that they have started preparations for commencement of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examinations (UACE) which will start on Friday November 8, 2024 with the briefing of the candidates.
She says that a total of 142,010 candidates registered for the examinations.
She has however cautioned Heads of UNEB Centers to strengthen the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education on the prevention, detection and control of the Mpox disease in schools.
Meanwhile, UNEB is also set to assess 72 candidates who will be sitting the UNEB Exams for Sign Language for the first time ever.
