President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been recognized by the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) as the ASLM Champion for improving Health Laboratory services in Africa.

Drawing from his bold vision, strong Pan-Africanism, the Africa Union’s Agenda 2063, and the Global Agenda 2030, President Museveni been cited a leader in Africa that has demonstrated outstanding leadership and impeccable commitment to improving health services generally and the laboratory sector specifically for Uganda and the entire continent.

The award was received by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health, Dr Diana Atwine before the presence of President Museveni who also gave an online address to the congregation in Abidjan, Ivory Coast from Uganda before his recognition.

Dr Atwine expressed her gratitude towards President Museveni’s support to the health sector and being at the forefront of supporting the laboratory services in the country.
